What We Collect
You provide directly:
- Date of birth (used to calculate your birth cards)
- Mood selections during check-ins
- Topics and free-text you enter during check-ins
- Journal entries, highlights, and notes
- Connection profiles (names and birthdays of people you add)
Collected automatically:
- Apple ID identifier (for Sign in with Apple authentication only)
- Basic usage data (crashes, app version) via Apple's standard frameworks
Where Your Data Lives

Your data is stored in a secured Supabase (PostgreSQL) database with row-level security — meaning only you can access your own records.
Our database is hosted on Supabase infrastructure in the United States (AWS). If you are located outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using Cardy Life, you consent to this transfer.
AI Processing
When you complete a check-in, your mood, selected topics, and any written text are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate your personalized reading. Anthropic is based in the United States. This data is:
- Transmitted over encrypted HTTPS
- Used only to generate your response in that moment
- Not retained by Anthropic for model training (per their commercial API terms)
- Not stored by us beyond what's saved to your account
We use Anthropic's commercial API, which does not use your inputs to train or improve their models. Anthropic's data processing is governed by their usage policy.
What We Don't Do
- We do not sell your data to third parties
- We do not use your data for ad targeting
- We do not share your personal notes or journal entries with anyone
- We do not use your data to train AI models
- We do not track you across other apps or websites
Analytics
We may use third-party analytics services to understand app usage and improve the experience. These services collect anonymized, aggregated usage data only (such as screen views and feature usage). No personal content — such as journal entries, check-in text, or connection details — is ever shared with analytics providers.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you stop using Cardy Life but do not delete your account, your data will remain stored. You can delete your account at any time (see below).
Data Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time:
- In-app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account
- By email: support@cardylife.app — we'll process deletion within 30 days
Upon deletion, all your data is permanently removed from our database.
GDPR (EU Users)
If you're in the EU, you have the right to:
- Access a copy of your data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data (see above)
- Restrict processing
- Portability — request your data in a portable format

CCPA (California Users)
We do not sell personal information. California residents may request to know what data we hold and request deletion, as described above.
Children's Privacy
Cardy Life is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy within the app. Your continued use of Cardy Life after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
